Many of you may have already noticed that prior to the weekend just gone we have reintroduced the bay dividers on the grass area of the practice tees. We have also added a rope to the rear of each bay. This is to help maintain a designated area to play iron shots from. We will monitor the wear and tear daily and will adjust the bays when we feel the location is needing recovery.

With this weekends deluge of rainfall some of the greens surfaces have had some significant pitch mark damage. I would greatly appreciate your help in repairing these if you make one or even see one near your ball. This way, we will have a greater success in maintaining the surfaces you have become accustomed to.

As a Club we have just invested in some more modern technology to help us read the moisture in the greens. This is a vital part of our job particularly at this time of year with prolonged heat and the addition of the drying winds we are experiencing lately. This piece of kit will see one of our lads walking around the green surface prodding the moisture meter into the ground and, using a mobile phone or iPad, this records our required data.

This will be something we will be doing at quite a busy period of the day but we will do our upmost to minimise any disruption to your golf. The lads will be more than happy to answer any queries on this operation if you are out there and spot it happening.
