The previous couple of weeks has seen us undertaking a large scale “hair cut” for most of the heather out on the course. This has been cut to a height of roughly 6 inches, this in order to make the heather more playable and hopefully easier to find a ball amongst it. I would, of course, welcome any feedback there may be on this slightly lower maintained heather.

The recent warmer temperatures are seeing some growth coming back into the golf course. This could start resulting in roughs becoming a little thicker in places, this is something we will be looking to thin out in the coming weeks through some cultural methods. In the long run this will be of benefit to the golf course playability but in the immediate future this could see a few areas looking discoloured and potentially shorter than other areas and therefore again I will encourage any feedback regarding these areas.

I appreciate all support and patience as the rough may go through a slight transition in areas.
