COURSE CARE
You will have seen last week that winter rules are now in place, which also means the time is fast approaching for us to consider fairway protection requirements for post-Christmas. In preparation for this I have been asked by the Board to remind each of you to please take due care on the course to replace your divots and repair any pitch-marks you see on the greens.

We have had a very good year in terms of course condition, and the changes in maintenance programmes and timings of these works, have resulted in positive comments from both yourselves, and our visitors and neighbours. In order for us to prolong our course condition even further in to the colder months, we must now ask each of you to do your bit. Growth has slowed dramatically but it is still happening. If divots are replaced, pitch-marks repaired and care to take trolleys and buggies away from any thin or worn areas, we will be able to remain in fantastic condition for several weeks to come.

The plus side of taking extra care now, is that it will shape how we decide to protect our fairways in the coming months. The better we are going in, the more we will be able to give you in terms normal conditions for January through March.

Thank you for your efforts in keeping the course the best it can be.

2nd AND 7th TEE
A quick reminder to please take care when walking out on to the course. Whether you are approaching the 7th tee from the car park, or the 2nd tee having finished your round, please make sure you don’t just walk out in front of the 7th tee without checking first.
In addition, those golfers on the 7th tee, please can you place one of your players in a suitable position to the left of the tee so that oncoming golfers can see you sooner rather than later. This will allow the approaching group to stop short of the hitting area and avoid them being in the line of fire. A small request, but one that will help us prevent any incidents.

DRIVING RANGE USE
We are now well in to the works being completed on our 1st and 18th holes, and if you have been to the Club you will have seen the changes taking shape. One of the most noteworthy so far is the new dune that has been created to the right of the 18th hole, and the removal of most of the waste from the end of the practice ground. The work is far from being completed but is very much starting to take shape.

Although it may seem that workers have moved away from this area, I must please ask that you refrain from hitting any shots beyond the tape at 120 yards. The workers, and our team, will still be going back and forth in to the hitting area and we must ensure their safety. Whilst I am sure it isn’t many of you, we are still finding range balls beyond the tape line which is a clear indication that some are not adhering to the temporary rules we have in place. I kindly ask that until we have reopened the range fully, please follow the rules in place. It would be a shame for all members if we had to close the range completely when the solution to prevent this is for such a short period of time.

Thank you for your cooperation.
