CAPTAIN'S CHARITY DAY – SATURDAY 14th JULY
The Captain’s Charity Day, in aid of the Samaritans, is taking place on Saturday July 14th, and the Captain is looking for your support. The event is for teams of 4 with the best 2 scores to count on each hole, plus various fun prizes on differing holes. On the 10th you will have a chance to beat the Pro in the morning, and the GM in the afternoon; on the 13th you will all be using a Hickory with a prize for nearest to the pin. Other spot prizes will be in play, plus penalties (only financial) for going in any of the bunkers on the 1st hole (be sure to bring a few pound coins).

Following golf at 7.00pm, there is a BBQ and Disco being held in the Clubhouse, as well as the results of the raffle and a small auction with some fantastic lots to be bid for. A selection of prizes for the raffle and auction lots is as follows:

- A 4-Ball at Birkdale – Auction Item
- A 4-Ball at Formby – Auction Item

You can sign up with a team for golf via the website from 12.00pm on Friday July 6th, but we ask all BBQ attendees to contact Adrian in the bar so he can take your details and arrange numbers. The price of the BBQ and Disco is £15 per person. For those of you wishing to bid for an auction item (listed above), but who are unable to attend the BBQ, please submit a sealed bid to the Office during the week prior.

Lastly – if any of you are able to support the Captain by donating any prizes for the raffle or auction, please contact the Office so we can facilitate the donation.

Thank you all in advance for your generosity.

NEW COURSE MARSHAL
I am delighted to introduce to you Mr Michael Burns who will be starting his Course Marshalling duties with us from Saturday. Michael is a member at Hesketh Golf Club and regularly plays for the Seniors Team. He has acted as a starter for Hesketh on several occasions and understands the challenges of keeping time around our testing links.

I will be working with Michael on Saturday, but if you do see him around the course, please make him feel welcome and introduce yourself if you have time.
